One of my favorite "Colbert Report" stories of all time was "Monkeys on the Lam". Not so much the story, but Colbert's excitement, and the hilariously dumb graphic that always makes me giggle (the video is the second story in this series - the first is even more hilarious but not availble online). Monkeys, they like to rampage.
Monkeys just don't stop rampaging. They are rampaging rampantly in New Delhi.
How weird would it be to live in a city where monkeys were a pest, like pigeons?

on a lighter note...
My favorite news story of the day: Squirrel goes on rampage, injures 3
The thing about it that is so beautiful is how the writer managed to make it so dramatic. This is a lesson in the use of language:
An aggressive squirrel attacked and injured three people in a German town before a 72-year-old pensioner dispatched the rampaging animal with his crutch.
The squirrel first ran into a house in the southern town of Passau, leapt from behind on a 70-year-old woman, and sank its teeth into her hand, a local police spokesman said Thursday.
With the squirrel still hanging from her hand, the woman ran onto the street in panic, where she managed to shake it off.
The animal then entered a building site and jumped on a construction worker, injuring him on the hand and arm, before he managed to fight it off with a measuring pole.
"After that, the squirrel went into the 72-year-old man's garden and massively attacked him on the arms, hand and thigh," the spokesman said. "Then he killed it with his crutch."
The spokesman said experts thought the attack may have been linked to the mating season or because the squirrel was ill.
Rampage isn't a word we get to use often, but here's a less dramatic example:
Ape escapes, goes on 3-hour rampage

things I like
I love seeing dogs meet each other for the first time. It's like you can see their thoughts in their body language - the frantic sniffing, the wiggles, the wide sweeps of the tails. It's like they're saying "Hi! How are you? What do you do? Let's be friends and run and play!"
I wish we as humans could be that uninhibited in our relationships.

I love hero dog stories. It's too bad this one doesn't have a happy ending, though...

Macho Man
As I mentioned, I was working on a sweater for H.'s chihuahua, which was finished and presented to him last night. He wasn't too pleased about it at first, but eventually he seemed to settle into it. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
He looks pretty sad and pathetic here.
Now he's a little more tough and fiesty!
