I'm totally in love with the commercials for 1-800-Got-Junk. The concept of the commercials is that they are releasing rats wearing little rat jackets with their phone number on them. The rats are attracted to piles of junk. People find the rats and call the junk company. The tagline - "Call us before we send you rats."

Cracks me up. Watch them - they'll crack you up.

musings on bodily functions

So yes, a week later, and I am still sick. I spent the entire week and much of the weekend sleeping or sacked out on the couch. I really have very little to blog about, because I have done very little the past week. I'm sure you all don't want to hear about the crap I've coughed up from my lungs.

Ok, here's a question. You know how when you're out somewhere, and you need to pee, and you're on the way home and you think "I can wait." Have you ever noticed how just as you walk in the door of your house, your need to pee suddenly increases like 100 fold? It's like your bladder has a radar that KNOWS when a toliet is nearby.

Speaking of pee - I really do not know how my cats manage to pee as much as they do. Have you ever seen the way cats drink water? They lap with just the very tip of their tongues. How do they get any water at all? Yet they can pee like they just drank Lake Michigan.

See, this is where my mind goes when I spend the better part of a week sleeping or watching daytime TV.

Rock Me!

The past few days at work, I've had my Launchcast station set to "'80s Pop." I've been pretty busy and stressed at work this week, and '80s Pop is pretty much like being back in 4th grade again. There are few stresses that can't be eased by chair-dancing to "Rock Me Amadeus."

My new mug also helps. I painted it myself.

it's been a while since a commercial made me laugh out loud, but I caught one last night for some sort of junk removal service (GoJunk?). It starts out with a guy talking about their brilliant new marketing plan - and shows rats with little jackets that have the name and phone number of the company. Then he says "Here's what people are saying about our new campaign!" and the a couple of shots of people pointing at the rats in their garages and kitchens, and shrieking.

Then comes the kicker. At the end is just a shot of a house with a couple of the rats on the lawn, and a small title card at the bottom - "Call us before we send you rats."

one of my favorite things about the holiday season is the fact that Scrooged is on TV almost all the time.

"But this is a CHRISTMAS show."
"Well, I'm sure Charles Dickens would have wanted to see her nipples, then."
